Our program instructs children how to create delicious and nutritious dishes that focus on making the kitchen a fun and friendly environment. Our number one priority is safety and learning the proper techniques for creating a conducive environment for inspiring young chefs.
How We Do It:
Our class size is limited to the first eight enrollees so that each child is given the individualized attention needed to create their dishes with confidence and a sense of pride. We want each student to participate in all elements of the creative process.
Students who enroll in 10 classes will receive a diploma of graduation, an official KCC Kids Cooking Club chef apron, and receive a personal cooking demonstration by one of Greenville's local chefs.
What We Will Be Creating!
Depending upon the complexity, we will be making 1 or 2 recipes per session. The gamut of items will range from healthy and nutritious to decadent and delicious. We will also discuss where our ingredients are derived, the manner in which they are harvested, and eventually how they get to our homes. We will utilize seasonal ingredients, plant and tend our own container herb garden, incorporate holiday inspired dishes, and gather fresh, organic ingredients when available. Other aspects of instruction are pointers for the budget conscious including coupon sharing, the use of grocery store fliers for meal preparations, and shopping buddies.
